I provide a range of services for individuals, couples (friends, co-parenting, engaged, married, divorced, dating, etc.) families, and group sessions tailored to address various mental health concerns. Some of these services range from sessions, workshops, tailored resources, retreats, and more.

Your initial session is an opportunity for me to understand your concerns and goals. It's a collaborative process where you can discuss what brings you to therapy and begin building a therapeutic relationship.Expect for me to want to get to know you, who you are, and what’s going on in your life. As my client, my focus is to get to know you. I have to get to know you in order for me to help you. You can also expect to learn more things about yourself. Expect to unveil some emotions and thoughts you may have swept under the rug. Expect a “no judgment” zone from me. At times, you can expect some self disclosure from me as well so that you can be reassured that I’ve been there and I understand where you are in a situation. My tagline, “healing through transparency” means that to get to the healing and growth that you need and want, we have to be transparent with one another. I encourage my clients to be as truthful and forthcoming as possible because the more I know about you, the better I can truly help you. Holding back can create stagnation in the growing and healing process. "Healing through transparency" refers to the therapeutic approach where openness, honesty, and authenticity are valued and encouraged in the therapeutic relationship. It entails both of us to be transparent with each other, and encouraging you to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly, without judgment or fear of repercussion.
Standard sessions usually last 50 minutes to an hour, but the duration can vary based on your needs and the therapeutic approach. Some intensive scheduled sessions can last for an hour and fifteen minutes to an hour and a half. After we get started, we will work together to determine the most effective session length for you.
Yes, confidentiality is a top priority. However, exceptions exist only in rare circumstances. There can be limits of confidentiality such as court-ordered occurrences, and future harm to self or others. But generally, what you discuss in our sessions remains confidential. Confidentiality is a top priority. Your sessions are private, and information shared within the therapeutic relationship is kept confidential, adhering to ethical standards and legal requirements.
Yes, I provide video and telephone options for individuals, couples, and families who prefer remote sessions. In doing so, it is important to ensure a secure and confidential environment for your sessions. I understand the importance of accessibility, and providing virtual sessions for those who prefer or need the convenience of not coming into the office for a session. This option allows us to connect from the comfort of your home and at your convenience.
I understand that life can be unpredictable. If you need to cancel or reschedule, you can reschedule at least 24 hours in advance to avoid any cancellation fees. To do so, simply go to your appointment confirmation email, and choose the reschedule button option. If you do not see the option available, then it means that you are not within the no-penalty 24-hour cancellation timeframe.
I understand that navigating the world of mental health care can be overwhelming, and I strive to provide transparency and clarity throughout our therapeutic journey. One aspect of mine that may differ from some other mental health professionals is that I do not accept insurance. While this decision may raise questions, I want to offer insight into why I've made this choice:
Quality of Care: My primary focus is on providing the highest quality care to my clients. By not accepting insurance, I am able to dedicate more time and attention to your sessions without the administrative burdens and limitations imposed by insurance companies.
Confidentiality and Privacy: Your privacy and confidentiality are paramount in our therapeutic relationship. By opting out of insurance, I can maintain the highest level of confidentiality without the need to disclose your personal information or diagnosis to third parties, such as insurance companies.
Flexibility and Personalization: Every client is unique, and I believe in tailoring your therapeutic process to meet your individual needs. By not being bound by insurance regulations, I have the flexibility to offer a wider range of therapeutic approaches and modalities to best support your journey towards healing and growth.
Accessibility: While I do not accept insurance, I am committed to making therapy as accessible as possible. I offer flexible price point options that will fit a variety of financial needs from free resources to groups, workshops, sessions, and more.
Ethical Considerations: My decision not to accept insurance is rooted in ethical considerations and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of professional integrity. I believe in maintaining autonomy and prioritizing your well-being above all else.
I understand that insurance coverage may be an important factor for some individuals seeking therapy, and I am happy to provide resources and guidance to help you explore alternative options if needed. Ultimately, my goal is to create a safe, supportive, and empowering space for you to embark on your journey towards healing and self-discovery.
If you have any further questions or concerns about my payment policies or how to access therapy without insurance, please don't hesitate to reach out. Your well-being is my top priority, and I am here to support you every step of the way.-Dr. Krystal
Absolutely not. In fact, through the variety of the population of my clients, many clients are individuals. One of the primary benefits that I see that individuals gain from our 1 on 1 session, is the ability for us to understand how you function within your familial, friend, and romantic relationships and how they have affected you.

Through therapeutic interventions such as mindfulness or expressive therapies, you can work towards resolving emotional wounds and finding inner peace.

Whether you're facing specific challenges or simply seeking to enhance your overall well-being, therapy can offer invaluable support and guidance on your journey towards greater fulfillment and happiness.
Absolutely not. Although my monthly group talks are private/closed groups, they are open to the public. All that I ask is for you RSVP your seat, and follow through on your reservation. Because seating is limited and the monthly women’s group talks are free, I do expect you to hold true to your word and be present if you said you would come. If you choose to RSVP and do not come, please understand that could have been a seat for someone else, and therefore, you will not be invited to another group talk. Workshops are paid events, and are also open to the public. If you purchase a ticket to the workshop and do not show, refunds will not be given and cannot be used at another workshop in the future. I encourage you to invite your friends to either the group talk and/or workshops!
My therapeutic approach is diverse, combining experiential techniques, personalized homework assignments, narrative exploration, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and a solution-focused perspective. This tailored blend aims to address individual needs, promote self-discovery, and foster positive change. I will incorporate various types of resources during our sessions and fot homework assignments.
Working with clients in diverse areas of growth and healing can attribute to more than one type of approach. Based on that client and their needs, I mainly toggle between experiential and narrative, and focusing on the solution and not the problem. I believe the client is the expert of their lives, so telling their story in the way they see it, is my priority. Once I hear and understand your story, I will then decide which approach is best for the client.
